So, with another move coming up and the prospect of facing a New England winter this fall, Gwen and I decided that it was time to replace her car. She has been driving a 2004 Suzuki Verona for some time, but the car was past its prime, with a few odd electrical issues cropping up from time to time. So, we headed down to a local Honda dealership and traded the old girl in for a 2014 Honda Pilot:
So far, Gwen seems to be really enjoying her new baby! This her first new car ever, and my first since 2006. It is amzing how much technology has evolved since then; this car is literally a rolling computer, with a built-in navigation system and an entertainment system that links with our cell phones via Bluetooth. No extension cables required to listen to music! On top of that, this past weekend was the 114th Submarine Birthday Ball. Gwen and I had a blast, catching up with some friends on other boats here in Norfolk that we don’t get to see too often. It was at a place called the Founder’s Inn, an upscale hotel compound out in VA beach.
And, as if that wasn’t enough, I’ve also been getting a few games of Dystopian Wars in. You can see some pictures of that over at Man Battlestations:
I’ve also been continuing to work my way through the Honor Harrington series for the second time. That will probably be the topic of my next post. Until Then!
