The Combined Bachelor Quarters (CBQ) - 10 November 2006

When I arrived in Groton, I was put up in the CBQ. This accommodation is not typical, as SOBC students normally stay at the base hotel, known as the Susse Chalet. I wasn't put off in the least however, as the CBQ room I got is very nice, indeed. Unfortunately, I have been told that I will have to move over to the Chalet once space becomes available over there. Until then, though, here are some pictures of where I'm staying!

This is the living area. The TV is on the left, and the sofa folds out into a bed.

Around the corner to the left is the kitchen area.

The kitchen area has a microwave, fridge, range top, and comes stocked with cooking/eating utensils!

Here is the sleeping area. There are two closets, as well as another TV here.

This is the bathroom area, with a full tub/shower.

Here is a quick and dirty floor plan I drew up.

The Groton Chalet - 17 November 2006

Well, it finally happened just like they said. Once the senior class graduated and moved out to clear room, they moved all of us CBQ dwellers over to the Chalet. The rooms over here are smaller and less well appointed, but it could be worse. I am living only one floor above the lobby/hospitality room, which means I don't have far to go to get online or use a microwave! At any rate, what you see below will be home sweet home until January!

My room is actually a bit odd in that it has two beds! Most only have one.

There is a TV and a dresser, but no DVD player.

This desk area is to the left of the TV. There is a phone jack in the base of that lamp for dial-up internet if one so desires.

The sink is outside of the bathroom, like in most hotels. Here you can also see the small closet provided.
