Hot on the heels of Winter Storm Juno (which dropped a record 28″ of snow on the shipyard last Tuesday, by the way) comes Winter Storm Linus, prepped to drop another foot or so of snow on top of what we already have. Behold the view from my office window:
The upshot is that all this snow managed to cancel work for the day, so I got to come home at lunch instead of having to toil in front of my computer and sit in meetings for another 6 hours or so! With all this free time opened up in my schedule, why not update the ol’ website?
First, some not so great news. My sister was recently in a serious auto accident that resulted in a rather badly broken leg. Fortunately, she and my brother-in-law both survived, and my sister is on the mend. It will be months before she has fully recovered, though. I just thank God that their injuries weren’t more serious.
On a different, somewhat happier note, over on my other blog I’ve finally gotten around to writing a review of the book “Fatal Choices: Wargames, Decisions, and Destiny in the 1914 Battles of Coronel and Falklands” by my good friend Seth Owen. This book is a unique way to explore history using wargaming, which as you might imagine is something that I am all about! Please take a look.
So, for the rest of the day, I don’t have a whole lot planned…I’m looking forward to spending some time with Gwen, playing a couple of video games, and also working on some of my models. I’m back to work on my Terran fleet for Firestorm Armada, by Spartan Games. This shot shows my progress on some new Destroyers and Frigates:
I’ll have some more pictures posted once I have these babies finished. Until next time!
